| Speaking of Which |

I've come back and found my past thoughts quite intriguing. In fact I was more than astonished that I've actually used my journal in the last 3 years. (Honestly, I thought it was much longer ago than that). Coming back I realize I had a much more interesting writing prose than I do now. In fact I feel it's somewhat deteriorated due to causes unknown. I won't trouble myself with that though.
I've moved on to keeping a hard copy journal, mostly as a memento to my life at 20. As much as I wanted to keep the daily details, I failed to constantly adhere to the pages. At least I kept myself faithful to the dates I was able to get to. I suppose I'm not too much of a journal person, but when I get the hankering, I'll be sure to write it down.
It's depressing to look at the past, but it's disheartening to look on that past with rose tinted glasses as is often cliched. I found it heartwarming to see what I've written back then and I can't say much has changed, though those days were much simpler times. |

Yeah... that's what it looks like. I wouldn't be on here had I not found this person in the same predicament as I. He got this strange mail from a ghost user on YouTube (most likely a spambot) and his message was pretty much the same as mine. Oh well, that's straightened out now. It was only a piece of junk mail.
Hmm... to stay or not to stay on here. I don't know, I'm not that fond of posting thoughts online, but it may be a great place to come back to if I want to share memories I don't want to forget. |

Honestly, I'm not sure how I worked that into a conversation today.
I'm sitting at lunch with some friends and one is talking about Halo
and how good his freind is. He's talking about meleeing an opponent
and then boom, we start our awkward conversation on Super Smash Bros.
At first we talked about it, just for "Hey, I didn't know you played"
and "Who do you play best as?" Ok it started innocent, but somehow
we talked about how popular it was in the dorms and what a great idea
if it were an actual class.
Ok, now this is where it gets out of hand.
We talked about 'Hammer Use 101' The advanced studies of how to play with
your opponents psyche, and disciplinary measures against glitch use in
any of our studies. We talked about going PHD on Smash... seriously.
But the conversation didn't stop, no. I mentioned how there's a profesional
gaming league and how many people actually make money of playing games.
Then we started about 'training for the nationals' through intense Thumb training.
Then we started joking around about player allegations on steroid use. "Luke Jackson
has been accused of steroid use in his left and right arms for superior reflexes
during gameplay. His testimony tonight..."
Ok if that wasn't enough, we started talking about how President Bush would LOVE
to play it all night and all day long... and should institute policies to put
an N64 with smash in EVERY domain.
Now I was ok with the direction of the conversation until this came along....
How the hell do you wind up talking about President Bush playing Smash Bros.?
IT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN...
Perhaps I should never have escalated the conversation as far as it did. |

Updating felt like such a hastle. But now that I think about it, it is fun
to be able to share thoughts on occasion. My finger has gotten better now
and I have taken the 'makeshift cast' off. So now I can type again with
full percision. ^_^ whee!
But anywho, I have work that I should be attending to. This is my free time,
and although it may not be due for a day or so, I am alone and I have time
to be doing it. But a part of me just doesn't feel movtivated to do the work.
This is becoming a problem lately that I just can't seem to overcome. Its not
that I'm lazy, I just don't find it necessary to do. This is preventing me
from applying to that one job that I know I can get and I know will help me in
the long run. But no, its been a month already and here I am still at my desk
typing useless words that will get me nowhere.
But see, this is where I'm wrong. I realize now that starting out on this little
entry has gotten me some motivation to do something. Here I left it sitting
for a while simply because I did not have the will to put something in here.
But with this entry, I'm given hope that I will continue to pick up a new habbit
of determination. I feel glad that I've put something here today and I think
I may just go do that work that I've been putting off now. Hopefuly doing this
will get me back on track to the good ol' days when I used to do work a week in
advance. I have become average now, and I think that trend started back in my senior
year. It may not have affected me severly, but it was just enough to notice I'm
not who I used to be (acedemically speaking.) I shall hopefuly change that
in the comming weeks to get things done.

So I jammed my left hand in the door today...
[man typing is a pain]
Ok here's the story:
In my dorm, I have a dry erase calender perpindicular to the door.
Now, this door is the semi heavy kind meaning that with momentum,
it will close on its own. With all the wind blowing as it does in
our room, it makes some pretty startiling bangs when it shuts (by
wind) Now I was in the process of writting something on the board
with my left hang danggling behind. A sudden strong gust of air
was comming in now and I thought nothing of it until the door
silently CRASHED on my hand. Now this wasn't a breeze up on the
summer porch, oh no, this was the kind of gust you feel when you
stand behind a cesna aircraft. It was pretty powerful because it
nailed my ring and middle fingers. The sudden jerk felt as if my
fingers had been chopped clean off like someone half cut me with a
quick jab of a knife. I ran over to my bed, flailing all over. I
hugged the pillow tight just to comfort my fingers because thats
what you do when in pain Roll Eyes. But that wasn't the end of
the ordeal, no, I turned the pillow rightside up to find BLOOD @_@!
First, I had to deal with the increasing fear of how bad the injury
was going to be. I'm not going to lie, it hurt like crap. I slowly
glanced and saw that it was fine but there was blood. So now I was
BLEEDING. Oh great. Luckily, I had ice and a bathroom. Keep in mind
my room mates are just sitting there watching this ordeal. I go rinse
the blood and proceed to make a makeshift brace. In any case, I decided
to double it as a bandage so first I applied neosporin, then I put
tissue. Then I secured the 2 fingers with some heavy duty duct
tape. It sucks that I had to write all that in my injured state.
Well.. I can enjoy college for now. |

| Traveled the country and then some... |

So whats new... A ton of things is what.
On a quick note, I haven't abandoned my LJ, I just haven't been online
as much and I've been slightly been more addicted to myspace.
With that said, I have been extreeeemely busy this summer.
The first week in August, I did volunteer work for my Church's
Vacation Bible School. (It's a very fun experience and I was much
obliged to help out even though I actually wasn't required to do
service activity this time around.)
Almost soon after that my family and I traveled out to the West Coast,
no not the sunny beaches of Cali, but rather further north to Seattle.
I stayed with my Uncle and Aunt in Olympia and had the best time ever.
I'll update with details and pictures later but I can say it was the
most amazing time I've had in quite some time. Everything was just
gorgeous and worked out so perfectly for us. The weather was beyond perfect,
that, coupled with kick ass scenery. It didn't get better than that.
I also crossed the border into Vancouver, Canada where my mom met with an
old Highschool friend. Now that was a beautiful city...words can't describe
the scenery. (Oh did I mention its made of like 80% Asians O_o). It was
so great I wish I could have stayed there for another week.
I think I liked the nice clear, mild 70F weather there as opposed to the
sticky illgotten humid 90-100's we're having here in DC ~_~ :melts:
But soon shall come the relief ^_^!
As that comes to an end I will be touring the streets of Baltimore coming up
at the next anime convention I shall be attending, Otakon. Its right around
the corner now, and I think that I don't know if I will have enough stamina
to last. Speaking of which I have College move in the weekend after. Man am I on
my feet all this month. Hey, well at least I'm having fun.
I wish I can get together with all my friends, its been forever since I've talked to them.
It feels like we're disconnected, but I sure hope not :'(. I hope to see them all at
Otakon. I hope I can keep in better contact with them through college, unlike now
when I'm running all over the place and have 0.1% of the time to be online....

It doesn't even feel like July, yet independece day is this weekend [Monday]. With watching my cousin every other day for the past few weeks since I've been off, I've been in a cycle of time that I just can't get out of. Life goes on, but I don't 'feel' it progressing. This sucks so bad. I REALLY want to get out of the house now. I won't be vacationing until late July/Early August. I certiantly can't wait till I start first semester at College Park. |

Ah.. I got an entire Chess Tournament to run for the school all next week. The preperations have been pretty tough. At least I got a bit of help. I did all the swiss style run docs for the elimiation proceedures and I got a list of all the maybe people who might drop by at the last minute. I'm suprized we got as many people as we did to sign up for this thing. Roughly 30. There are a lot of other really good players I know of in the school, but they have 'other commitments'. Oh well I guess you can't get them all. But yeah.. this is what I have bn busy with the past two weeks.
If it something anyone must know, I am now going to University of Marylan College Park this fall !!! yay for me. I'm going to miss my friends. At least I get to see M.J. from time to time.
Well I guess while I'm speaking of my friends I should wish two of them a very wonderful Happy Birthday!
W00t! Go Mike and Brandon. You are both amazing friends and I hope that we never loose any contact with each other. Now that they reached the special 'leagal' age of 18 they can go as wild as they want!! |

Well I've just been uber lazy to be online.
Lots of stuff has happened but I don't want to get into all of it.
summary of events
12-28 =Birthday
Month of Jan= parties, school frustrates me with tons of work
Feb
02-14= Valentines Charming and Fun.. very happy that day
um some week after that= Britsh invade our school!!
02-18}
02-19}Katsucon!!! fun anime convention in Arlington, VA. got to see my friends
+ I get accepted to University of Maryland College Park! w00t!
02-20}
02-21 Day of rest
02-24 Snow begins, closes school for next 5 days even though we get an abysmal 6 inch snow that melts all friday. Sunday we get an expected 10 inch snow that only becomes a 2 inch yawn. Still I get a 5 day weekend!!!
Today.. tired.. need rest.. got accepted to University of Maryland Baltimore County.

Finnaly I have a day to relax a bit. I think I'm acctually getting tired of school. Not a lot... just enough to take a month vaction NOW!!!! guess I might as well put something here. I've been getting lazy at updating {sorries!!!} But now I'm back and free of time!!! One thing that was really insteresting today was me playing dual chess. I made up the rules and still lost!!! Well it was just me and ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) poetrygoat </span>against my friends Kevin and Kevin (they're not related). We matched off where one side got to move twice for some pretty interesting and devastating combos! I hadn't taken into account for the extra move they could do and how they often did a clean sweep of our pieces. (VEEEERRY SORRY TO GABE FOR LOSING!!!) ok it was interesting but we lost. At least we put up a little of a fight at the end. [Nevermind, it was pathetic]
The most uplifting part of my day would have to be the fact it snowed!!! We haven't got a single inch of snow in our area until today whereas in previous years we would have an avarage of 7 inches of snowfall for the entire winter. My area south of DC got a bit of snow in December but it was really insignificant. Today we got a nice sized 2 inch snowfall with an even larger system bringing somehting more than 4 inches at least! I love snow A LOT!! I can't wait!! =^o^=. |

Man I got so much to do. I took a look at thier due dates and found that half the stuff I'm doing is due 3 weeks from now and the stuff that needs to be turned in needs to be done by Monday! Oh crap. I don't feel like doing any work seeing as this is my break. But it sucks!!! Ah I just want to give my brain a
break from all the parties I've been to and the busyness of keeping up with house hold choures. Plus all my friends are comming over tommorow. If I don't want to procrastinate, I better get stuff done TODAY!
But then again, I feel all too lazy... |

YAY! Happy Birthday to me! I'm now 17 if that really matters. I still wish I were 16 though. Awwn I don't want to grow up. I feel so old now! Oh well.. I am planning to have all my friends come over
Saturday assuming they can make it.
I had fun today. We went to the Spy Museum in D.C. and I thought it was great. I need to go back since they have WAY to much stuff all at once on display. It needs to be spaced out more. I had Thai for dinner (mmmm I LOVE Thai!) and then we went home. I had a great day. I wish it snowed. Oh well...
off to play some DDR and worry about College Apps/ 5-7 page essays/ school work/ getting other things done........... |
